Here is a peek-a-boo:
How many children do you have?
I am a Mother to a boy who turned two in September. Sometimes, it seems that time has flown by fast and I want to hold on, but at other times, I wish him to grow a little faster so that I can do all I have planned for him. I feel my family is not complete and want a girl next.
Are you a Stay-at-Home Mum, Working Mum, or Work-from-Home Mum?
I am a full time working Mother and send my child to day care with little guilt in my heart. I wish I could be with him 24/7 but I have no choice.
How do you manage your career/blog life around your family life?
Thanks to the Tribe which motivates me to write. I look out for inspirations and save a draft right when an idea crosses my mind. I must say, its not at all easy, but the spirit keeps me going. I do not write at a stretch and sometimes, it takes a few days before the post is ready to publish.
Do you think its easier being a parent now than when you were being raised?
No, not at all. There were no gadgets around, less competition, reduced crime rate, less pollution – so many concerns for us to think over. Being a parent now is to juggle so many things at once.
What is your biggest fear as a Mum?
My biggest fear being a parent is to protect them from all the harsh things out there.
What is the one thing you would have done differently as a new Mum?
I did not use diapers when at home and still don’t.
While I was browsing for suitable feeding equipment, I decided to use glass bottles instead of the plastic counterparts.
What advice would you give other women about pregnancy and parenting?
I would advise mothers not to go by others word every time but to follow their own instincts. Don’t be harsh on yourself and seek help instead of diving in guilt or depression.
What are your hopes and dreams for your children?
One difficult question for which I have innumerable answers.
I wish them to be wise enough to differentiate between right and wrong as I will not be with them forever.
I wish them to be independent so that they do not have to look upon someone for anything.
I wish them to be compassionate human beings.
What is your favourite way to relax when the kids are in bed and sound asleep?
I indulge in crafts or some good read to keep myself sane amidst all the responsibilities.
Thanks again Geraldine for having me on your conversation series at Over Heaven’s Hill. I’m truly honored.
