Lessons learnt in 2015: A toast to Newbie fellow Bloggers!

January 7, 2016

The biggest thing happened to me in 2015 is MY BLOG. In this 4 months of journey, there are so many lessons learned and still going.

Blogging to me was limited only to Writing and Sharing but as I am exploring the present Blogging world- I tell you its lot more than that.

A toast to every New Blogger:

1. Building a Blog is easy but building the reader base, is not a cake walk

One day I got up and decided to pen down my thoughts to share them with the world i.e. You Guys out there reading this.

Its so exciting to narrate in words- You can tell everything without the so called expressions as humorously defined in Bollywood movie “PK”.

With few posts in my plate, I expected much. First thing in the morning was to look at Google Analytics – I was expecting some big numbers but I was wrong.

Its not that easy to impress you all. I need to work hard…very hard with the hope to win your hearts one day.

2. Starting a Blog is easy but maintaining it, is not a bed of roses.

A 3 three step process and I was ready to fly-

  • Choose a Domain and Host
  • Install WordPress
  • Buy and Install a theme

Then came the SEO, Plugins and Newsletters. Its so much to explore that there is something to learn with each passing day.

3. Starting a post is easy but finalizing one is not

There are many topics I can write about endlessly but to finalize a polished copy is not easy.  There are multiple drafts, one after one, dumping the previous one. Many times, I rub it off all and start afresh.

Sometimes, the rhythm does not match- Thanks to my kid and and many roles to play: Daughter in law, A Wife  and  A mother.

4. Creating a social page is easy but socializing is not

Name it and Social page is ready- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram …so many options to publicize but again Catching Viewer’s attention is not easy.

You need to be regular and ready to welcome the critics as well.

5. And the Last.. Its demanding

Its like raising an Infant so you have to be very patient. Saying that, I am fully occupied with my Duo-15 months old Son and 4 month old Blog.

  • You cannot leave it alone
  • You have to be prepared to face the resistance
  • You need to diagnose the problem yourself

I enjoyed the journey so far.
