Need more Time? Try Minimalism

April 24, 2017
some free time

Do you ever feel the need of having more time? or

Do you ever wish for some free time?

If yes, you need MINIMALISM

I always wished I had more time to follow my Hobby, to watch weekend movie, to spend time gardening. I never realized that time I was demanding for, was with me already- I just need to manage it.

I once wrote Are you fooling yourself when you say you have no time?

Gift of Time

When you gift someone your Time, which is a precious thing, you prove that you value them.

I remember how My mother, despite her full time Job used to play with us, cook for us and helped us with School homework.

If we can’t gift some quality time to play with our Kids, we fail as Parents

If we can’t give some quality time to care for our elderly Parents, we fail as Kids

If we can’t give quality time to our Life partner, we fail our Marriage

This does not mean one should leave their Jobs or Work, This does not mean one should only involve in chit chat throughout the day. However little, but the time you spend with them should be valuable.

Divide effectively

When we do not plan our time properly, 24 hours seems so less.

If we divide our day, we tend not spend our time mindlessly over social media or complaining about something. We are more productive this way.

Every thing eats your time- Be it long distance to your workplace or your gym or Kid’s school. Try to keep the commuting time as less as possible.

We cannot fit everything in 1 day but we can at least decide our priorities.

Extra Time window

My Mother always advised me to consider this extra time window before going anywhere. I did missed my Flight due to the same reason once.

However, I still need to learn this art of no-last-time-fire-fighting which includes completing work just on time, submitting documents the last day, reaching Office late.

Once you free more time for yourself, you will juggle less, stress less, compromise less and appreciate more. Moreover, you will have some free time. After all, Minimalism is about Freedom and loving your Life.

Time is probably our most precious commodity, it’s all about using the time we have in a way that aligns with our values. It’s not about doing more or less, it’s about doing what matters most to us. I’m loving these minimalism posts!

Very useful tips here Upasna! Time management seems to be a bane in this country where IST stands for Indian stretchable time! How I yearn for puntuality in peeps. And yes I mark out my priorities well to demarcate time accordingly.

Ha ha, Stretchable- new for me. Setting priorities is a must thing otherwise we will juggle them all and end up being tired. Thanks for commenting Shalz.

    Some useful tips there….

Actually, I personally have an opinion that we don’t manage time, but we do however manage our self in those given 24 hours…..and once we learn managing ourselves in those 24 hrs, there will be no, “no-last-time-fire-fighting”, as you said….

    well written post Upasna 🙂
