Upcycling project : Wind Chime to decorative Mobile

August 9, 2016

I started with-

Rustic bells (Chimes removed)

I ended up with something more appealing-

Beads to add colors

You’ll need:

Acrylic Paints

Rubbing alcohol (Spirit)

  • Clean the surface with Rubbing Alcohol
  • Start painting it with any color you wish
  • Let it dry and paint another coat (I added 3 coats to give it perfect finish)
  • Once the paint is dry, you can add Varnish to add glossy look (Leave it to dry for 48 hours)
  • Cut 4 strings and thread the beads in; seal it with a knot.
  • Paste one side of strings onto the bells using glue gun or any other strong glue.

What a lovely transformation of the old bells! The bright yellow stands out in a nice contrast to the pastel coloured beads. I am not a crafty person myself, but have great admiration for people who can create such beautiful things.

Hey Upasna, this is fun and looking very creative.

When I was a kid I used fight with my Dad to bring stuff for craft 🙂 You reminded me of something.

Looks very pretty Upasana. I like these DIY projects. My one yr old however, gets more interested in whatever I have my hands on and almost everything ends up in his mouth!!
