wastage of water

Do you feel the pain when you witness wastage of water?

My heart aches when I see the most valuable resource possessed by us (actually gifted to us) getting drained for nothing- Without quenching the thirst, without cleaning and without generating power….just draining.

We cannot list down the boons this transparent thing gifted us with.

Our Society has a lavish garden. Thanks to the Gardener. Few days back, the moment I woke up and stepped out in my Balcony, I noticed our Gardener watering the grass. It was 7:30 am. I got busy with my morning chores and went out again at around 8:30 am. The water was still flowing and this time unattended by anyone. It formed a puddle of water.

I wish I could call someone to say- Please stop! their thirst has been quenched.

Few things I do at Home to avoid wastage of water

I like my Car to shine each day but do not prefer wasting tonnes of water for the sake of that glossy look.

If I am at Home, I keep aside my glass through the day.

I prefer filling the glass of water just as much as its necessary to quench my thirst.

I do not feel more fresh by using an extra bucket of water to just splash on myself.

I mostly rinse my clothes in a Bucket rather than using washing machine.

I use the waste water from my RO to water the plants or to mop the floor.

This pain should prevail in hearts of each one of us, Earth dwelling Humans. Only then we will care for it and preserve it for our future generations.

This is such a relevant post Upasna…..Many don’t realize this, esp. when drinking from a glass-full, or when washing clothes and dishes…..I keep my glass separate too…and I take only the needed amount….trying to teach this to my kids too…..Don’t waste water is an oft-repeated phrase in my home….

My Mother had put this phrase in our minds…and I am glad.

People often don’t realise how much water they waste in RO. It’s a wise idea to use the water wasted in plants 🙂

At office, we look to see if there’s leaky faucets, or people who have left it open for too long while they wash and such. As soon as the overhead tank starts to overflow (into a big bucket), we fill buckets inside the house so they overflow from the tank doesn’t overflow the big bucket outside. 🙂 Same as you with the glass, I have one that I use through the day, unless I use it for coffee too. 😀 Never good to waste water. I agree.

Happy to know someone who cares. You are doing efforts at Office too, that’s great.
