PARENTING PREGNANCY

A welcome letter to my soon to be born child

April 11, 2018
letter to my unborn child

When I became a Parent for the first time, I didn’t know how it is to be a primary caregiver to someone so tiny, so fragile.

With my first, I was reborn, this time as a Parent.

And then one day, I decided to add another one to the mix. My friends call me Braveheart but I do have reasons to go for a second child.

Read- Why I convinced my partner for a second child.

Now I know what it takes to be a Parent. I wanted to write a letter to our unborn child while he/she is yet to enter our lives.

Dear second child,

I have a confession to make- We really wish you to be a Girl as God has already gifted us with your Brother.

But then my Love for you will not be any less even if you are a boy.

You will still make our Family complete.

Now that you are gonna be a part of our lives, let me introduce you to the members of your family.

I am your Crazy, Loving, Strict Mumma who loves to cuddle and tries her best to be a better parent, each day.

Your Father is a fun-loving, always smiling person who loves to sing songs and irritate me.

Now, this is the best gift we can give to you- your Sibling, your big Brother. We have told him that his own baby is coming soon and he is so excited that he already named you. He too wants a baby girl. He is a loving and helpful kid.

But let me warn you- He is a possessive one too and does not like to share our Love with any other Kid. You need to be patient and strong enough to face his jealousy.

He even does not like to share his toys and belongings. But I really hope your sibling-bond to be strong enough to melt away all the differences.

You are our concious choice, my child.

I know that you will bring along another 3 years of sleepless nights. I know that I will be bound to Home for days to come. I know it will be a challenging time for us- financially and emotionally.

Still, we want you with the hope that you will bring more joy and bliss to our lives.

We are not perfect but we will together make a perfect family for you to cherish throughout your Life.

I can’t wait any longer to meet you.

Love,

Your Mother
