What is luck?
A famous quote by Seneca holds the crux-
Among a batch of 200 new joiners, I was the first one to get into a project when I joined a Job in 2010. Many said that “You are lucky” but the truth is something else. I said Yes to the offered opportunity at once when everyone was reluctant to join for a support role.
Winning lottery or hitting a jackpot does not define your luck. Never in my Life I won a single jackpot, (I commit, I tried few times) but I still consider myself Lucky.
I do not have my lucky footwear or something like that. Things can’t define your luck but can only make you feel better.
Richard Wiseman bestselling author of Luck Factor says “What is luck: Luck is something that we create by our thoughts and behavior.”
Yes, we can attract good luck. How?
Being open to all possibilities.
People who always resist changes are less likely to experience the goodness of Life. Always have a Plan B.
Never see any opportunity as a waste of time. It may open the next door of success for you.
By trying new things
If you do not try new things, how can you say that it works or not. Even if you fail, but next time you would know what does not work for you.
Apart from your Job, learn new skills and seek new experiences.
Being Optimistic
Optimism helps to identify solutions and answers where being pessimist, we only see problems and heartache.
By overcoming fear of failure
Each one of us have this fear at some point in our lives. But what we need to learn with time is How to overcome this fear.
Fear pulls us back from reaching our full potential.
By spending time wisely
Our time is limited and we need to prioritize where and with whom to spend this limited time on.
We tend to kill our time over social media and call it Entertainment. I guess we all know time spent on scrolling through other’s profiles and fancy pictures is not Entertainment.
Focus on the most important task first and then move to other less priority tasks.
By considering yourself lucky.
Someone said “Luck is believing you’re lucky.”
Feel fortunate and do not dwell too long on the setbacks and bad experiences that life brings your way.
No one labels you for Good or Bad luck. Its only us who can. You must have heard people saying “Its my bad luck” but rarely seen someone saying “Its your bad luck”
Dear you, stop blaming luck for your wrong decisions and bad mood and BE LUCKY!

Lovely write up with relevant suggestion and ideas. I haven’t come across a good write up on this subject before. Worth sharing with others…. Will share it on social media!
lovely post Upasna , yes dont think before saying yes to opportunities
Great pointers there – the thought about being open to new possibilities is so important. Though inherently I’m someone who plays it safe, yet each time I have stuck my neck out I’ve found something good happening to me.
What Natasha said above. It is all projection and perception.
Very well said. I consider myself lucky and believe in the quote “Luck is believing that you are lucky”.
Thanks for commenting Ramya. Yay! We are Lucky 🙂
Yes luck is by our side when we chose to make it happen with our positive thoughts. Luck is our thoughts that we send out to the universe and make our reality.
This post is really making me see things differently, Upasna.
I love it when you say , ‘Yes, we can train our mind to create good luck. If you do not try new things, how can you say that it works or not. Even if you fail, but next time you would know what does not work for you.’
A true eye opener, this post.
