This is the first time when “Word of the Year“/WOTY has come natural to me.
Right after I completed my studies, I was eager to start my Career. I was one career-oriented, determined girl who always puts her dreams, aspirations first.
Contrary to the Life I was living in a metro city, my first Job was a slow moving, boring one with veteran Scientists around. I was not satisfied as I wanted to taste the fast life my peers were living.
I switched my Job and moved to a Metro City which never sleeps, you are right- Mumbai. It was then I was settled in my mind.
Since then, Life happened and I turned into We. Kids came, Jobs changed, Cities changed but Life was still moving at a fast pace. After working for 10 years I have decided to take the plunge and quit my corporate Job in December 2019.
Why? Because my WORD of the year was staring at me asking “How more you want to wait?”
My Word of the Year 2020
My Word is-
I wish to slow down my Life and focus on the things that may look small or insignificant but are more important.
I want to shift my focus from MONEY to HEALTH, from FUTURE to PRESENT.
In the race of earning and saving more for future, I was ignoring Present. I had to slow down for myself and my family. It was not only affecting my physical health but Mental health too.
I realized that we all must slow-down our lives when necessary rather than running a rat-race.
I wish to witness each moment- first words of my child, sun sets, rainy days, fluttering butterfly, lazy afternoons. Everything that we call LIFE.
Am I late posting this? Na, I am just not rushing but slowing down.
Have you ever felt the need to slow down?
What do you want to experience if you could slow down your Life?
