I always wanted to adapt to yoga lifestyle after I crossed my mid 20s.
Its been more than 4 years but I could not be able to practice it on daily basis. and then I read something which made me realized that Yoga Lifestyle does not only mean on-mat but can be practiced in off-mat Life too.
Yoga is not only about doing asanas and sweating out. Its about balancing your mind and heart.
Being Honest with self and others
We cannot be honest to others if we are not honest to self first.
Be Kind
Kindness never goes out of fashion.
Don’t just grab whats not yours
Whether it’s a promotion, credit for a job well done, a great opportunity, money on the sidewalk, whatever it is – don’t take anything that doesn’t belong to you.
Be Helpful; with no expectation in return
Helping the one who we know cannot return back the favor in any form, is we all should do.
Be satisfied
Wants have no bounds but at any point of time, we need to be satisfied with what we own.
Comparison is the thief of Joy.
Not be judgemental
We need to stop judging people, we might not know their past or the reason behind their actions.
I find many similarities between Yoga and Minimalist Lifestyle.
Minimalism says-
Yoga Lifestyle says–
Do not cling to things and people
Minimalism says-
Yoga Lifestyle says-
Be satisfied
Minimalism says-
Yoga Lifestyle says-
Be aware in your actions
But both enhances the quality of Life and both should be practiced as a journey, doing little daily.

Very good words to live by. You have chosen wisely and all good things will come to you because you expect good things. If you live in a negative world, expecting trouble, it will find you.
Enjoy your wonderful journey.
Oh my I was cerainly not aware of this philosphy of yoga – must read up more on this. Thanks for sharing it Upasna.

I do yoga and I am a minimalist. Both of them are game changers in my opinion.
Looking forward to reading these posts as an eBook. I have mentioned your blog in my post today as I am loving your posts on minimalism.
